Obituary for BEAUCHAMP

JANE M. Age 94, longtime resident of Los Alamos passed away June 27, 2012. Jane was born to Benjamin F. and Eleanor Miessner on July 9, 1917 in Pensacola, Florida and grew up in New Jersey. Jane attended Sweet Briar College in Virginia and obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree. In 1942, Jane met Richard K. Beauchamp and they were married on December 26, 1942. In 1945, Jane moved to Los Alamos to join her husband who was working on the Manhattan Project at Los Alamos National Laboratory. Jane was an active member of the National Republican Ladies Origination, Sangre de Christo Girl Scout's Council, New Mexico Screen Actors Guild and enjoyed teaching horse-back riding, as well as going out for trail rides on her horse. Jane was also a member of the Los Alamos Sheriff's Posy during the 1950's -1970's. During Jane's active years in the New Mexico Actors Guild, she was in several movies; "Cheyenne Social Club "," Early Day of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid", "Silverado" and several other movies. Jane is survived by her children, Suzanne B. Conrad and husband, Peter Conrad, Richard M. Beauchamp, Paul K. Beauchamp and wife, Karon Birdsong, and Antoinette Beauchamp-Mann and husband, David Mann; 16 grandchildren; and many great- grandchildren. Jane is lying in state, wearing her favorite red velvet dress, given to her by her daughter-in-law, Karon, at French Mortuary, on University Blvd., in Albuquerque, NM. Memorial services will be held on July 5, 2012 at the Los Alamos Christian Church, 92 East Rd., Los Alamos, New Mexico at 10:30 am, with a reception in Rayburn Fellowship Hall.
