JOYCE ALAIRE Age 84, passed away Friday, May 25, 2012. Born in the Panama Canal Zone her family moved to Albuquerque in 1943. She graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1946 and from UNM with a BFA and MA in 1951. She taught music in APS and retired in 1980. Joyce loved classical music, nature, and dogs. She favored Boxers but loved them all. She toured many of the National Parks "solo" with a pet as her companion. Her appreciation of animals outlives her. She's left her modest estate to veterinarians who cared for her many pets through the years. Dr. Clinton Hughs, posthumously through an endowment to KSU for veterinary scholarships, and Dr. Terry and Linda Shukei of Las Cruces, NM.
