PLACIDO V. Age 89, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012 in Albuquerque. Placido is survived by his wife of 65 years, Erlinda Garcia; children, Steven Garcia and his wife, Jeanette, Geri Martinez and her husband, Chris, and Sylvia Vigil and her husband, Chris; grandchildren, Stella Sandoval, Angel Goral, Jeffery Casaus, Melanie Garcia, Vincent Garcia, April Herrera, Crystal Lucero, Pauly Garcia, Callie Garcia and Patrick Garcia; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Joe Garcia and Elmer Garcia and sister Dora Garcia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Candio and Amelia Garcia; brother, Celestino Garcia; sisters, Josephine Rael and Marie Chandler; son, Walter Garcia; and daughter, Erna Mae Casaus. Placido served in the Army during WWII and worked for the Department of Nuclear Agency for 34 years. Placido was well loved by all his family and his many friends. He was an usher at Holy Ghost Parish for over 50 years. He was a generous, kind man and will be dearly missed. Friends may visit French - Wyoming Chapel on Monday, June 11, 2012 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Parish, 927 Arizona St. SE.
