Obituary for THIEL

VICTOR Passed comfortably and quietly early Sunday morning. Born in Nampa, Idaho April 13, 1915, as the 6th of 12 children. He grew up on his family dairy farm and graduated from Meridian High school in 1933. He joined the Army Air Corps in 1939 and eventually was stationed at Kirtland Field where he met and married Hester. Following his discharge as a Tsgt in 1945, they settled in Albuquerque. He joined Public Service Company of New Mexico and worked there for 31 years retiring in 1976 as a senior working foreman. He was a proud member of the IBEW for 66 years. During his prime he was an avid bowler, fisherman, hunter, and sportsman. He was preceded in death by his parents, all 11 brothers and sisters and his beloved wife of 54 years. He is survived by his son Keith; granddaughters Kimberly Thiel and Tracie Rainwater; three great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law; and many nieces, nephews and good friends. His ashes will be interred with Hester at the National cemetery in Santa Fe. He will be remembered by all for his broad smile, quick wit, and everlasting friendship to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
