Obituary for FANNING

ALFRED JR. COL. US ARMY (RET) Went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 28, 2012, after a brief illness. Al was born in Sherman, TX on November 9, 1928 to Opal and Alfred Fanning. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. and the Army National Guard in New Mexico as well as Texas. After his retirement from military service, Al went to work for the Department of Corrections from 1983 to 1999. His daughter, Brenda Wilsey, preceded him in death. Al is survived by his loving wife, Stella R. Fanning; sons, Jeff Fanning and wife Jill of San Diego, CA and Tim Bohn and wife Tricia of Tucson, AZ; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Al at one time was an avid golfer and will be missed by his "golf buddies". Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2012, 7:00 p.m., at French - Wyoming Chapel. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, May 7, 2012, 10:00 a.m., at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
