Obituary for KOLB

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday April 15, 2012

DANIEL GREGORY A tragic accident took the life of our beloved son, brother, and friend on March 29th, 2012. He will always be in our hearts. His free spirit help shape all those who were lucky to have known him. In his 34 years, he had more adventures than most do in five lifetimes. His spontaneous adventures included: snowboarding for 184 straight days in Summit County Colorado, blazing new trails on his mountain bike, participating in many music festivals and jam sessions, touring the country from the Florida Keys to Denali Alaska whether for pleasure or as a commercial truck driver, and providing onsite Katrina relief. He was a self taught musician. His passions included composing and recording music, light and sound production, and playing drums and guitar. He is survived by his parents: Greg and Laura Kolb, siblings: Christina and Brian Bettes, Nathan and Eileen Kolb, Amber and Greg Taylor, and David Kolb, as well as his Grandma Mary Sauters, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was a loving uncle to his nieces Kaitlyn, Claire, Madi, and Aleah. A Rosary in his honor will be held 7 pm on Friday, April 20th. Mass will be celebrated 10am on Saturday, April 21st. Both events will be held at the Aquinas Newman Center at UNM: 1815 Los Lomas NE 87106
