MARK HENRY 1962-2012 Age 50, a resident of Los Lunas, NM, passed away on April 10. He was born in 1962, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and was raised in Albuquerque and Los Lunas, New Mexico. Mark graduated from the Albuquerque Academy in 1980, where he was a member of the soccer and golf teams. In 1979, Mark led the Academy to a soccer state championship, and as goalie, prevented at least 20 opposing scoring attempts. Mark also took third place in the Albuquerque City Golf Tournament and his ambitions to become a pro golfer were unmet due to a hand injury. Mark attended UNM after high school graduation before opening his own golf shop. He was a master at repairing and making golf clubs. Mark then worked in real estate in Los Lunas, establishing Scott's Real Estate Unlimited, with his wife Dilenda, from 1990 to 2002. Mark then became a journeyman carpenter, retiring on disability due to diabetes from JB Henderson Construction Company in 2010. Mark was an avid member of the Southwest Carpenters' Union, Local #407 for ten years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lola Marguerite Luckett Skotchdopole; his father, Henry Skotchdopole; and his older brother Leonard Douglas Horne. Mark is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Dilenda Scott of Los Lunas; his daughter, Chelsea Morris and husband, Michael of Lake Monticello, VA; his stepson, Larry Romero and partner, Julianna Martinez of Los Lunas; the nephew he raised as his own, James Andrew Scott, of Los Lunas; and his beloved grandson, Alexzander Romero of Los Lunas. Mark is also survived by his brothers, Tom Horne and his wife, Linda, of Austin TX; and Paul Skotchdopole and his wife, Yolanda, of Las Vegas, NM; his sisters, Gayla Thomason of Los Lunas and Arlene Horne and partner, Carlton Cann, of Douglasville, GA; his aunt, Lillian Balfour of Los Lunas; sisters-in-law, Debbie Blea, Janine Meraz, and Lisa Scott; and brothers-in-law, Robert Scott and Rene Scott; his grandmother-in-law, Ida Perkins; and his wife's aunt, Pat Salgado. Mark is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including Emily Horne, Jimmy Thomason, Shona Thomason, Gabriel Langford, Maia Reeves, Chris Hahn, Thomas Horne, Amanda Skotchdopole, Brian Skotchdopole, Vincent Scott, Beto Baeza, Violet Scott, Maricarmen Scott, Monica Marin, and Alisha Scott. Also surviving is Gabby Ogdon, who provided special care for Mark. The family requests that donations be made to the Diabetes Foundation.
