CATHERINE D. Age 67, a resident of Rio Rancho, NM, since 1972 was welcomed home to our Heavenly Father on Saturday, April 7, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 3, 1944 to Henry J. and Margaret (Clarke) Grein of Hackensack, NJ. She married William "Bill" Fairhurst on August 24, 1968 on Long Island, NY. They were married over 43 years. Cathy was a very loving and devoted wife, mom, and grammy. She will forever be remembered for putting others' needs before her own. Her children are so grateful for her being their confidant and best friend. She attended all of her children and grandchildren's games and events. She was loyal, caring and extremely generous. Cathy spoke up for the downtrodden and cheered on the underdog. Some will remember her working as an Educational Assistant for the Rio Rancho Public School System and the "neighborhood mom." She was, also a longtime member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. No one will forget Cathy. She was the heart of her family! She was preceded in death by her very beloved father and mother, Henry J. and Margaret Grein. She is survived by her adoring husband, William "Bill" Fairhurst of Rio Rancho, NM; sons, Scott Fairhurst and his wife, Patti, of Rio Rancho, NM, Brian Fairhurst and his wife, Iolanda, of Albuquerque, NM, and Gregory Fairhurst and his wife, Cindy, of Rio Rancho, NM; grandchildren, Tyler, Ryan, Jaycob, Logan, Tanner, Cooper, Madyson and Landon Fairhurst; siblings, Henry J. "Hank" Grein, Marguerite Piotrowski and husband, Chris, and Michael Grein; many beloved nieces and nephews and dear friends. A Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until the start of the Rosary at 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Sara Chapel, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM. The Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, April 13, 2012 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM.
