DORA E. Loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Born October 14, 1942 in Blount County, Tennessee. She peacefully passed away on Thursday morning, March 22nd, 2012. She is survived by her husband, David Bates; children, Janice, Michael, Charles, and Jerry Bates; her grandchildren, Sarah, Kayla, Marelyn, Lori, Shirree, Michael II, Shawna, and Katie; and daughters-in-law, Betty Bates and Karen Platte. She was very strong, kind, self-sacrificing, compassionate, and always put the needs of her family before her own. Her family loved her and cherished the times they shared with her. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
