LAURA V. Was born on March 1, 1920 and passed away on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 in Albuquerque, NM at the age of 91. Laura was a lifetime member of Catholic Daughters of America- Court Santa Maria. She was also a member of St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary. Laura won several ribbons at the New Mexico State fair for her beautiful afghans. She was a talented writer who researched and wrote, "Brief Recollections of South Barelas" which was published in 1992 and collaborated with her brother, Pat Vigil on a "Vigil family history". Laura was a long time member of the Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church where she took pride in maintaining the altar linens. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leandro and Juanita Vigil; her loving husband of 63 years, Dan G. Garcia; son, Dan R. Garcia; grandson, Eric Gallegos, and her brothers, Leo, Alonzo, Paul, and Billy. She is survived by her daughters, Pauline Breidenbach and husband Tony, Linda Gallegos and husband Herald, Virginia McIntyre; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Trini Gutierrez and husband Frank; brother, Pat Vigil; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends who love and will miss her. Services will be held at Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church, 8901 Candelaria NE. Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 5, 2012 at 10:30am. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming NE. Honorary Pallbearers are Chris McIntyre, Michael Breidenbach, Shawn Connell, Adam Scott, H B Gallegos, Frank M.
