Obituary for WILSON

WARREN GARRAL Age 88, born January 16, 1924 in Dallas, Texas, passed away February 10, 2012. He was preceded in death by his mother Delia(Dee) Washburn Reddin; step-father Daniel(Hays) Reddin; and foster-mother Josephine Smith. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Maxine (Knudson) Wilson; daughters, Lorraine Fjelseth (friend Don), Julanne Williams (husband David); son, Warren (Bud) Wilson (wife Bonnie); granddaughter, Stacey Maley; great-grandson, Bodin Wissinger, all of Albuquerque; aunt, Ethel Washburn of Laguna NM; nephews, Greg and Bart Knudson; niece, Suzanne Knudson, all of Oregon; and numerous cousins. Warren served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII, was called to active duty during the Vietnam War. He retired from the NM Air National Guard after 25 years of service as an airplane technician. He attended Washington Junior High School and Albuquerque High School in Albuquerque where he graduated in 1942. He owned and operated a retail grocery store for several years after WWII. Besides his family and friends, he loved his many dog companions. He had a passion for tennis, skiing, sailing, "tinkering", and traveling to many destinations with his wife, Maxine. He enjoyed his work, military career, and being able to serve his country. Memorial services will be held at Temple Baptist Church, 1613 Arizona NE, Friday, February 17, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Burial will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery with USAF Honors. Direct Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements, 2919 4th Street NW.
