JOSEPHINE PADILLA Was born November 14, 1931 on a ranch in the Zuni, New Mexico mountains to parents, Epimeno Padilla and Lazarita (Sandoval) Padilla. She married Joe B. Chavez on January 31, 1946 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is survived by her daughter, Colleen (Chavez) Ross of TorC, NM; sister, Erlinda Mirabal of Gallup, NM; grandson, Jimmy Padilla; granddaughters, Heather Williams and Sunshine Chavez-Mahan; two great-grandsons; and three great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe B. Chavez (Shine); son, Joe B. Chavez, Jr.; and grandson, Joe B. Chavez, III. Cremation has taken place and Memorial Rosary/Vigil will be held at Holy Rosary Church on January 20, 2012 at 7:00 PM.
