LILLIE L. Age 92, went home to God on January 6, 2012. She was born in Schenectady, New York on June 20, 1919 and had lived in Albuquerque since 1967. As a young woman, Lillie worked at General Electric where she met her future husband, Albert Gates. They were married for 59 years. She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Barry. Lillie Gates is survived by six other children, Joyce Grubbs of Ruskin, Fl., Bettie Moss and her husband David of Corona, NM, Richard Gates and his wife, Janet of Las Vegas, NV, Sherrie Simek and her husband, Rudy of Albuquerque, NM, Terrie Gruen and her husband, Mitch of Edgewood, NM, and Jeri Garcia and her husband, Mario of Albuquerque, NM. Lillie is also survived by six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. The Funeral service will be held Friday, January 13, 2012 at 2:00pm at Riverside Funeral Home, 225 San Mateo Blvd NE, Albuquerque NM, (505-764-9663). Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Christian Appalachian Project, PO Box 55911, Lexington, KY 40555 or the Corona Senior Citizen Center, 451 Corona Main St., Corona, NM 88318.
