NANCY age 87, a longtime resident of Albuquerque and Corrales, died December 22, 2011. She was born in Oak Park, IL on August 6, 1924. She grew up in Elmhurst, IL and after graduating from Colorado College she passed the National Medical Technology Registry exam and worked as a med tech in the pathology department of Chicago Medical School. She moved to Albuquerque in 1956 and became the chief technologist in the blood bank laboratory at Albuquerque VA Hospital. Shortly after moving to Albuquerque, Nancy became an AKC Dog show obedience judge and continued judging shows until 2010. Her popularity among exhibitors, fellow judges and show-giving clubs was legend and her assignments took her all over the US including Hawaii and Alaska. She was known and respected for her ability to put exhibitors at ease when they entered her ring and was loved by many for her sense of humor and her strong devotion to the sport of dog obedience. She trained her own dogs and through the years put a number of obedience titles on many of her own dogs, all of whom were much loved pets who slept on her bed at night. She was a very active member of Sandia Dog Obedience Club and at one time or other held every office in the club. She was also a participating member of Rio Grande Kennel Club. She will be greatly missed by her many friends from coast to coast and by her family and her longtime friend, Vita Zodin. Nancy is survived by a sister, Joanne Pringle of Burr Ridge, IL; and by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews; and by her dear friend, Vita. A celebration of her life is planned for early 2012. Date and time to be announced. Contact 505-897-0087 for details.
