Obituary for DWYER

JAMES JOSEPH JR. Age 84, a long-time resident of Albuquerque, passed away on December 21, 2011, surrounded by his immediate family. He was born on July 10, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois the son of the late James and Estelle Dwyer. Survivors include his son, John Patrick; daughter-in-law, Judie; two granddaughters, Christine and Laura; sisters, Rita and Judy; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was the oldest of eight siblings and was preceded in death by his wife, Shirlee and eldest son, Michael. He served a full career in the U.S. Navy and respectfully retired as a Chief Petty Officer in 1966. He went on to become a co-owner of Pulsar Maintenance and finally retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier. In 1991, he decided he was "done with that workin' stuff" and traveled extensively in his RV, ultimately settling in the "land of manana" at the Mission Valley Park in Weslaco, Texas. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your favorite charitable organization. James was a loving father, grandfather, and friend and will be greatly missed.
