JOE P. 82, of Albuquerque, New Mexico passed away suddenly on December 6, 2011. Joe was born in Devine, Texas on March 29, 1929 to Carrol and Bettye (Bush) Williams. He entered into the USMC in March of 1946 as a courier, with an honorable discharge December 1947. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Club. He worked for the Atomic Energy Commission in Los Alamos which became the Department of Energy (AEC/DOE) at Sandia Corporation from which he retired. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Edith Williams; step-son, James D. Burns; two sisters, Mary Jones, and Julia "Sunshine" Shouders; and two brothers, Cotton and John "Tooter" Williams. He is survived by step-son, Warner Lewis "Lou" Burns and his wife Colleen of McIntosh, NM; step-daughter, Bobbie L. Harrell and her husband Dale of Axson, GA; sister, Billy Cude; brother, Herby Williams; 12 grandkids; 24 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. There will be a Funeral Service at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM on Friday, December 16, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Samuel L. Burns, Shaun P. Burns, Windie Burns, James Burns Jr. Rocky Burns, Brandee Burns. Burial will be at 2:15 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM.
