Obituary for DURNELL

CLYDE R. Passed away November 16, 2011 following a brief illness. He was born February 14, 1923 to Asa and Esther Durnell of Farmington, NM. In 1947 he married Adele Billington of Escondido, California who preceded him in death in 1996. Clyde worked for the federal government until 1978 when he retired as state personnel manager from the Bureau of Land Management. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, rock collector and golfer. He also enjoyed working in his woodshop. Clyde was active in the Order of Eastern Star and the Masonic Lodges of Santa Fe and Farmington. For several years he was also active in the St. Vincent Hospital Auxiliary. Clyde is survived by daughters, Barbara Smith (Steve) of Helena, MT and Pat Noble (Jim) of Santa Fe; grandsons, Jeff Garner (Sandy) of Santa Fe, Jim Noble (Luli) of Denver, CO, Travis Noble (Jessica) of Brownwood, Texas, and Russell Smith (Jacqui) of Helena, MT; and great-grandchildren, Kyle, A.J., Shelby and Steven Garner, Thomas and Lizzie Noble, Hannah, Josiah and Asa Noble, and Zion and Roan Smith; He is also survived by four great-great-granddaughters. Services will be held at the Episcopal Church of Holy Faith on Palace Avenue on Friday, November 25, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to one's favorite charity.
