WILDA INGRAM Was born June 23, 1932 to Roy B. and Myrtle Lilian Hunter Ingram in Clarendon, TX. On November 8th Wilda went to be with her Lord and Savior and the other saints, including her parents and her sister Phyllis Ingram McDaniel. Wilda liked to say that her mother had chosen her name from a novel she was reading during her pregnancy, and that she (Wilda) had often wished that Myrtle had read more exciting novels. Wilda was raised and educated in Clovis, NM, where her father, Roy, owned and operated the Piggly Wiggly grocery for 36 years. She graduated from Clovis High in 1950, as an honor student and the DAR Pilgrim. She was an active member, and a state officer, of the Rainbow Girls. She attended Eastern New Mexico University in Portales where she received a BS degree in Home Economics in 1954. She was the Homecoming Queen in 1952. Wilda met Kendall, her husband of 57 years, while they were students at Eastern. They were married in Clovis after Wilda graduated, and she was then given the privilege of teaching 5th grade at Emerson Elementary to put Kendall through the UNM Law School. Upon Kendall's graduation and admission to the New Mexico Bar in 1957, the family, which then included Julie, moved to Farmington. Cindy and Kenyon were both born in Farmington, where Wilda was chosen as Mrs. Farmington in 1960. The family moved to New York City in 1963-1964, where Kendall attended the NYU Law School where he received a graduate degree. They returned to Albuquerque in 1964. Wilda and Kendall's family consists of the following: daughter Julie and husband Bill Case, and children James Oliver, Timothy Patrick, Andrew Kenyon and Lilian Joy "Lily" Case; daughter Cindy and husband Patrick Davies, and sons Samuel Arthur, Kendall Reed and Philip Denny "Phil" Davies; son Kenyon and wife Zoe Schlenker, and children Christian David, Stephen Latimer, Luke Kendall and Helen Amelia Schlenker. The family is very close to Hope Christian School, where four grandchildren have graduated, five are in school, and Julie and Zoe are teachers. Some of Wilda's best years were while living in Placitas from 1977 to 2005, where both Wilda and Kendall were active in Las Placitas Presbyterian Church. Wilda was a Deacon and the Church Treasurer. In her later years Wilda was diagnosed as having "dementia, probably Alzheimers." She received wonderful care, first from Melvina McCabe, M.D. and UNM Health Services, and later from Suzanne Pinon, M.D., and Haven Care Aspen House. The family thanks them all, and also Carol Holmes who was Wilda's caregiver and friend, and Shauna, Susan and Bernice at Aspen House. A Memorial Service celebrating Wilda's life will be held Saturday, November 12, at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 512 Locust NE, in Albuquerque, with Rev. Myron White and Rev. T. Stewart Coffman presiding. Memorial contributions may be made to the church of your choice, or to All Faiths Receiving Home, 1709 Moon Street NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112-3973. Ph: 505-271-0329
