CECILE MURIEL In Loving Memory of Cecile Muriel Corn: God called our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend home to welcome her with open arms on Sunday, October 9, 2011 so that she might serve a greater purpose. Cecile, who was an only child, was born at Nonsuch near Highgate, in St Mary Parish, Jamaica, B.W.I. on April 22, 1920. She met her beloved husband, Dick, in December 1942 on the steps of the USO in Kingston, Jamaica; they were married in June 1943 in the Panama Canal Zone and for 68 years they shared their remarkable love with family, friends, and community in service, work, and play. While raising five children Cecile became a U.S. citizen, received an LPN degree and practiced as a Nurse in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She retired and was a founding docent at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History where she spent time digging for dinosaurs and educating children at the museum. Cecile was an active member of St. Mark's on the Mesa Episcopal Church for 48 years and then of Christ the King Anglican Church since its inception two years ago. She and Dick moved to California earlier this year to be closer to their daughter and granddaughters. Cecile was preceded in death by her parents, Captain and Mrs. Ronald Coy Swire Rutty; daughters, Cecile Andrea King and Patricia Ann Graeme. She is survived by her beloved husband, Dick; son Rick Corn and wife Earleen; daughters, Peggy Landis and husband Bill, and Susan Fladager and husband Curt; grandchildren Ronald Rutty, Bill Graeme, Michele Farrell and husband John; Richard Corn IV; Kelly Manwill and husband Chris; Beth Blackmon and husband Jason; Mylaina Landis, and Megan Escobar and husband Ruben; great grandchildren Patricia and Alexander Graeme; Weston Farrell; Stacey, Brook, Kaylah, and Christopher Manwill; George and Caroline Corn; and Isaiah and Ezekiel Escobar. A Celebration of Cecile's Life will be held on Saturday, 11:00 AM, October 29, 2011 at Christ the King Anglican Church, 5300 2nd Street NW, Albuquerque, by Rev. Dr. Wells. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the glory of God in memory of Cecile Corn to the Order of the Daughters of the King. These donations will be recorded in the book of remembrance and displayed at the General Convention and kept at the National Office of the Daughters of the King.
