MELISSA JOHNSON Age 40, of Albuquerque, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2011. She is survived by her loving partner David Dodson of Albuquerque; her mother Linda Johnson of Farmington, New Mexico; her father James Johnson Lt. Col.(Ret)USAF and step-mother Diane of Greenville, Ohio; her brother Douglas Johnson of Las Cruces; her sisters Meredeth and Sarah Johnson of Columbus, Ohio; her grandmothers Dorothy Thornton of Denver, Colorado and Christine Johnson of Fairmont, West Virginia; her maternal grandfather Alfred Frick Lt. Col. (Ret) USAF of the Philippines. She is loved by her Uncles, Keith Frick and wife Linda, Mark Frick and wife Suharmi, Kent Frick and wife Julie, Gary Johnson and wife Alden and her Aunt Susan Stewart and husband Kenneth of Pilar. Her extended family includes cousins, Kimberly Stewart and husband Dan, Heather Stewart and husband Dale, Evie Frick, Suzanne Kirchoff, Aiden Stewart, Duncan Stewart, Matt Johnson, and cousins residing in Indonesia are Nina, Nadia and Ryan Frick; and the Dodson Family. Melissa was preceded in death by her step-father Brian Beasley and her paternal grandfather Fred M. Johnson. Melissa was born in Kansas and was raised in Mississippi, Ohio, Alabama, Germany, Virginia and New Mexico. She graduated from Farmington High School and attended NMSU where she was on the Flag Drill team. Over the years she was employed with Blue Sky Tours and with American Express in Albuquerque as a Travel Specialist. Melissa loved Dinosaurs and Winnie the Pooh. She also enjoyed Halloween parties, celebrity trivia games, the license plate game and reading Dean Koontz books. Her joyous nature was loved and shared by all of her friends especially her life-long friends Carrie Waruszewski and Tammie Cooper. Her pets Timmie and Gracie brought her much love and fun each day. Melissa touched many lives, she will always be in our hearts and will be missed by all.
