Obituary for LUCAS

SYLVESTER H. Age 90, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2011. Sylvester was born on April 6, 1921 in Dexter, Missouri to Myrtle and Barney Lucas. The family moved to New Mexico during the 1920's and homesteaded near Ramon. During World War II, Sylvester was in the Army and served through-out Europe. After the war he became a successful businessman in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Sylvester owned and operated Lucas Motor Company in Albuquerque's Old Town, and later owned and was president of White Cloud Trucking Company in Albuquerque. Sylvester and Clara, his wife of over 70 years, retired in 1980 and enjoyed a life of motor-homing, hunting, and fishing. He was also a long time and active member of Harwood United Methodist Church. Sylvester is survived by his beloved wife, Clara M. Lucas (Berlier); sons, Lynn and wife Sherril, and Larry; and grandchildren, Sherilyn M. Lucas, and K.C. Lucas. He was a good man and will be sorely missed by family and friends who loved him. A private burial has taken place and a Memorial will be held at a later date.
