THEODORE 'TED' 91, devoted husband of 67 years and loving father, died Tuesday at The Retreat Care Facility following a long illness. Ted is survived by the love of his life, wife, Avis Trujillo; children, Donna and Ervie Robinson, David and Toni Trujillo, Mike Trujillo, Mary and Rick Shimon and JoLou and Jim Ottino; 19 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill and Ed Trujillo; and sisters, Francis Baca, Marie Rosano and Rosie Phillips.Ted spent more than 35 years in selfless service to the nation. A World War II Army veteran, Ted entered law enforcement at the end of the war. He was a dedicated young police officer in Las Alamos before moving into federal law enforcement as a Customs Officer in El Paso. Ted was eventually selected as the first Customs Port Director in Albuquerque - a position he held for 11 years prior to his retirement in 1981. Ted enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family as well as schooling others in the fine art of golf. The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2011, 10:00 a.m., at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
