GERALD D. "GERALDO" a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, was born August 8, 1960. He passed away Sunday, September 18, 2011 at the age of 51. A 1978 graduate of Valley High School, Geraldo attended DeWolf School of Cosmetology, where he became a hair stylist, owning and operating "Geraldo and Friends Salon". He will be remembered as a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. Geraldo loved to attend Church, singing in many Church Choirs. As well, he loved to cook and spend time with his cherished family. Geraldo was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jose and Corina Sanchez and Estanislado Saavedra and by his niece, Samantha Lynn Saavedra. He is survived by his parents, Eliseo and Jenny Saavedra; brother, Stan Saavedra; two sisters, Barbara Saavedra and Sandra Guzman; sister- in-law, Donna Saavedra; brothers-in-law, Odalis Guzman and Ernie Montoya; five nieces, Charmayne, Sarah Louise, Amanda, Emilia and Olivia Elise; one nephew, Estanislado; great niece, Madison; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, family members and friends who loved, will miss him and adored him greatly. Services will be held at St. Therese Catholic Church, 4th and Mildred NW. A Viewing will begin at 5:30 pm on Friday, September 23, 2011, followed by the Rosary being recited at 6:00 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery, located at Avenida Ceasar Chavez and Yale SE. Pallbearers will be Charmayne, Amanda, Celina, Olga, Emilia, Estanislado, Stan and Raul. Honorary pallbearers will be Madison Marie and Olivia Elise.
