LUNA RUTH Died September 2, 2011 at the age of 93. She had been a resident of Albuquerque since February 2009, prior to that she had lived in Arlington, TX for 68 years where she was a private piano teacher and member of the First Christian Church music staff and the Arlington Music Teachers Association. As a longtime member of the Ft. Worth (TX) Piano Teachers Guild, she participated in the creation of the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. She was a 1938 graduate of the American Conservatory of Music, Chicago. Luna Ruth is survived by two daughters, Carolyn (husband Michael Norviel) of Albuquerque, and Lou (husband G. W. Fisher) of Basye, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas J. Tinker. Private family burial has taken place in Arlington. Her family expresses deep gratitude to the Casa Angelina family and Ambercare Hospice for their loving care.
