Obituary for DOROTIK

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday September 04, 2011

LEODEAN "DEAN" Dean left to join our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 31, 2011. He lived 70 years on this earth as a caring and giving son, sibling, husband, father, and friend. Dean was born July 26, 1941 and raised in the small farming town of Eola, TX. In his twenties, he moved to Albuquerque, NM, where he met the love of his life and soon to be wife, Ann Farragher. They settled in Los Lunas, NM in 1969 to raise a family and live in the country. He worked in the Texas and New Mexico gas/propane industry for approximately 30 years. He was also a master carpenter, farmer, hunter, avid fisherman, and outdoor enthusiast. In life, he worked hard to raise and support his family in every way possible. He was widowed in 2000 and his son, Patrick John, passed that same year. He is survived by his daughter, Kelli Ann Dorotik. Over the years, many friends were made and all who met him respected him. He was a great man amongst men and will be deeply missed in this world. Dean was a spiritual man, but believed that funerals were "misery for the living". Per his request, no services will be held. He will be at rest with family who preceded him in death at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Albuquerque, NM. Please offer prayers based on your personal beliefs. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations sent to the American Cancer Society, 10501 Montgomery Blvd. NE, Suite 300, Albuquerque, NM 87111. Our gentle giant has gone fishing.
