He served on the board of the New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum and was instrumental in its development. He will be interred in Santa Fe National Cemetery with military honors, having served honorably in World War II. He saw combat at Okinawa with the United States Army's 7th Infantry Division, 7th Reconnaissance Troop, one of the defining moments of his lifetime. Services will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 5301 Ponderosa Ave. NE.
