Obituary for COHEN

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday August 21, 2011

SELMA BANDEL June 7, 1915 - August 11, 1991 We can't believe it's been 20 years. She is still cherished in our hearts and deeply missed. She was the oldest child of Hungarian immigrants to St. Louis. She was an R.N. In the Navy, then attended college and graduate school on the GI Bill. A teacher at APS, she also taught Sunday School at Temple Albert, Rabbi Shor proclaiming her as the finest teacher in the history of the Temple. The Cohen Garden at the Temple was established in her honor. She was awarded a Paul Harris Fellow from Rotary. She was a Docent at the Abq Museum (a plaque was donated by the Docents in her honor) and a world traveler in her retirement. All of her descendants of age graduated from fine professional schools. May she continue to rest in peace.
