MILDRED L. Age 87, passed peacefully August 4, 2011. Mildred was born in Birmingham, AL., December 17, 1923. She was a resident of Albuquerque since August 2010. With a long career in elementary education in Tallahassee, St. Petersburg and Spring Hill, FL, she touched many lives. She married her high school sweetheart, Harold Vanderburg at the age of 70 in 1993. They were together for 17 years before Harold's passing August 8, 2010. Mildred was the mother of Paul Bowdoin, wife Sue, Licia Bowdoin MacDonald (deceased) and John Bowdoin, wife Carlene; grandmother of Phil Muskett, wife Nicole, JP Bowdoin, wife Susan, Jason Bowdoin, wife Sheree, James Bowdoin, wife Brittnee and Danny Bowdoin, wife Jennifer; great-grandmother to Shasha, Liam, Connor, Kathryn, Grace and Brynlee. Her family brought her great joy and was her reason for living. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents John Wesley and Ida Lee Jones; brothers Carl, Ed and John Lee; her daughter Licia; and her husband of 30 years, Paul Bowdoin. A lifelong Presbyterian, Mildred's ashes will be scattered in the Memorial Rose Garden at Grace Presbyterian Church, Spring Hill, FL. where she and Harold will be together.
