FRANCES DOREEN Age 88, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, July 25, 2011 in Albuquerque, NM. Frances was born in Rives, Tennessee on August 31, 1922. She was preceded in her passing by her husband of 62 years, Eugene Barbour in 2002; sister Dorthy Wellford; brother Wayne Witherington; sons David, Johnny and Jim. Frances and Eugene met in high school in Memphis, TN and married in 1940. They moved their young family to Park Forrest, IL in 1954. In 1965 the family moved to northern California. Frances and Eugene came to Albuquerque, NM in 2001 to be near their daughter. Frances is survived by her daughter Dianne Barbour of Albuquerque, NM; two granddaughters, Alysha and Chelsea Barbour; and son-in-law Wes Christopher, all of Portland, OR. Frances leaves three grandchildren, three-year-old Sylas Christopher, and nine-month-old twins Scarlett and Jasper Christopher. Due to Fran's expressed wishes, there will be no formal ceremony prior to her internment at Sunset Memorial Park. The immediate family members will be having a private memorial celebration of her life. The Barbour family entrusted their loved one to French Funeral Home and Crematory.
