JOE Age 79, went to be with our Lord and Savior Monday, July 4, 2011. He was born on May 22, 1932 in Albuquerque, NM. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joan Atencio; son, Keith Atencio and son-in-law, Milo Lovato. Joe is survived by his sons, Joe Atencio and wife Vivian, Steve Atencio, Patrick Atencio, Tommy Atencio; daughters, Kathy Atencio, Sarah Neronha and husband Jeff, Jacqueline Schan and husband Larry, Mikki Lovato, Sonya Atencio and fiance Mark; sisters, Rosella Villa, Lola Ragan and husband Bill; 25 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; niece, Sylvia Serna; and brother-in-law, Max Sanchez. Joe loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them; he will be greatly missed by numerous friends and extended family. A Visitation will take place at Garcia Mortuary in the Chapel of Angels, Friday, July 15, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a reciting of the Rosary to follow. Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5311 Phoenix Ave NE, Saturday, July 16, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Sandia Memory Gardens.
