Obituary for MEAD

GRACE LEONA Age 81, mother, grandmother, and friend to many, went home to be with our Lord Tuesday, June 14, 2011. Born on June 11, 1930 in Coscob, CT, she was a very generous person who made people laugh wherever she went and never met a stranger. Grace was artistic by nature, and brought that talent to her several careers of vocalist, artist, professional cook, and caregiver. She was well traveled and lived for two years in both Bejing, China and Padova, Italy. Grace was preceded in death by her parents, Gideon and Alice Mead; and three of her brothers, Walter, John and Thomas Mead. She is survived by her sisters, Alice Shover, Albuquerque, NM, and Gertrude Infante, Watervaliet, NY, and brother, George Mead, Boise, ID; sons Richard Thornton, Naugatuck, CT, and Thomas Thornton, Daphne, AL and daughter, Lynda Millett, Albuquerque, NM; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren and many friends. Grace will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. A Memorial Service will take place at Harvest Fellowship Church on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Grace's cremated remains will be scattered and a plaque placed in her memory at Sunset Memorial Cemetery Rose Garden, 924 Menaul Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87107.
