Obituary for DONOVAN

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday June 19, 2011

JACQUELYN MARIE Age 80, passed away June 13, 2011. She is survived by her two children, Adele Woodruff and Brian Donovan; her five grandchildren, Scott Woodruff, Jennifer Woodruff, Jennifer Parrott, Brian Fulbright and Sean Donovan; her two great-grandchildren, Cody and Caleb (Peanut) Parrott; and her brother, Kenneth Ellsworth. She was preceded in death by William, her beloved husband of 60 years; her parents, Forrest Ellsworth and Dorothy Schrinner; her brothers, Terrence Ellsworth and Forrest Harry Ellsworth; and her daughter, Michele. She was born April 28, 1931 in Lansing, Michigan. She was active in the Young Ladies Institute at St. Joseph's church in Pomona, California and was a frequent volunteer and chaperone for the Chi Rho teens at her church in Claremont, California. She was also active in Community Theatre with her entire family. When she moved to Los Gatos, California she became known for the beautiful wedding cakes she baked, that tasted even better than they looked. She and her husband retired and moved to Albuquerque where she realized her lifelong wish to have a swimming pool. She was an avid swimmer and loved to entertain by the pool. It seems she never really grew up and enjoyed the company and energy of teens. She hosted an exchange student from Germany for a year and spent many summers hosting teens from Northern Ireland. She always loved animals and was active as a volunteer at several animal shelters and rescued numerous puppies and kittens. She also enjoyed cooking and collecting recipes to share with friends and family. Her favorite color was blue and once upon a time she even had blue hair to match her blue shoes. She never met a stranger, only a new friend. Most of all she loved her family and she will be missed. A celebration brunch will be held for Jackie and Bill on Friday, July 1, 2011 from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. at 10805 Menaul NE. Afterwards, friends are invited to join the family as Jackie and Bill make their last journey together to the Sunset Memorial Park Centennial Urn Garden.
