WILLIE SR. 1935-2011 Willie Sanchez Sr., age 75, a resident of Belen, and formerly of Albuquerque, passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2011. He was a member of the Calvary Chapel Rio Grande Valley. Willie enjoyed spending time outside, fishing and hunting. He loved being a grandpa so much that other children besides his grandchildren would call him grandpa. He was a loving and devoted husband and dad. He was preceded in death by his son, Willie Sanchez Jr.; parents, Eusebio and Emma Candelaria Sanchez and sister, Lucy Tafoya. Willie is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Josephine Marquez Sanchez; daughters, Lucia Moon, Patsy Padilla and husband, Richard, Mary Jaramillo, Emma Kotobi and husband, Mohsen, Betty Padilla and husband, Rafael and Sandra Sanchez; daughter-in-law, Gloria Sanchez wife of deceased son, Willie Sanchez, Jr.; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Emily Martinez and husband, Johnny, Charlie Sanchez and wife, Dolores, Eusebio Sanchez Jr. and partner, Dorothy and family, Rosie Serna, and partner, Joe and family, Paul Sanchez and wife, Pat and family, Johnny Sanchez and wife, Sandra and family and Mary Lou Saavedra and husband, Felix and family. A viewing will be held at Calvary Chapel Rio Grande Valley, on Tuesday, June 14, at 6:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be held at a later date. Pallbearers will be Michael, Joseph, Joshua, Ricky, Tracy and Ann Marie. Honorary Pallbearers will be Anthony Brown and Daniel Padilla.
