Obituary for HAWK

ROBERT M. Age 86, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2011. He was born in Purcell, OK on November 13, 1924 to Lemuel L. Hawk and Grace Belle Pace. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Hawk of Albuquerque; brother, Frank Hawk of Mildred, TX; sister-in-law, Sally Bryan; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Hawk moved to Albuquerque in 1946, and he graduated from the University of New Mexico with a B.A. He was retired from Sandia National Laboratories and served the community of Albuquerque and the State of New Mexico in many ways. He served for fourteen years as a New Mexico State House Representative; he served six years as a Bernalillo County Commissioner, four years on the Board of New Mexico State Psychiatric Hospital, member of the Board of Bernalillo County Mental Health Center, member of the Board of UNM Hospital, and member of the Advisory Board of Sequoyah Adolescent Treatment Center. A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, June 11, 2011, 1:00 p.m., at Central United Methodist, 201 University Blvd. NE, with Reverend James E. Hawk, Jr., Mr. Hawk's nephew, presiding.
