FRANCIS RICHARD "DICK" Passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at home after an extended illness surrounded by his family and "best buddy" Fritz. Dick was born in Albuquerque, and graduated from Albuquerque High School and UNM. In 1965, he co-founded Gardner Zemke Company, a regional electrical and mechanical construction firm. He was an active supporter of UNM and endowed the Gardner-Zemke Professorship in the electrical engineering department. He was also an avid Lobo fan; trout fisherman; and hard working industry leader. Dick is survived by his wife of 20+ years, Pauline; one daughter, Linda (husband Leo); two sons Rick (wife Kater) and David (wife Gail) all of Albuquerque; two Step-sons, Rick Hyder and Gary Hyder, also of Albuquerque; five grandchildren, Justin (Sheena) Zemke; Sean Zemke; Christina Kreuz; Garrick Hyder; Haley Hyder. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a contribution to the charity of your choice. Visitation will be on Friday, June 3, 2011 from 5:00-8:00 p.m., at French - University Chapel.
