Obituary for FLINT

Ronald "Ron", age 71, a resident of Belen, passed away on Thursday, May 19. He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Ron was supervisor for health and human services in San Diego County for 25 years. He was known for his quietness, but once he popped a "Budweiser" and the music started he was the life of the party. Cooking and barbequing were a natural for him. Ron was a big fan of the Oklahoma Sooners and Oakland Raiders. He was preceded in death by his father, Victor Flint; son, Shawnee Flint; daughter, Tracy Ann Flint and grandmother, Ollie Flint who raised him. Ron is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Marcella Barreras Flint; son, Ronald Flint, Jr. and wife, Andrea; grandkids, Kristin, Alyssa and Brittney Flint; sister, Carolyn Swaim and husband, Bruce; mother, Lucille Marshall; brother-in-law, Manuel Barreras and wife, Bertha and his best friend, Jean Wagner and a man's best friend "Buster". He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, at 9:00 a.m., on Monday, May 23, with a rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m. and a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens.
