Robert C. Holmes, 87, passed away May 10, 2011. Born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, he was a Rio Rancho resident for the past 23 years. He is survived by Betty, his wife of 32 years and two sons, Steve and Mark of California. He is also survived by Betty's children: Judith Schnell of Albuquerque, Christina and Sarah of Phoenix, AZ, Merry of Bellingham, WA, James of Odessa, TX, and Martin of Dillon, MT. He was preceded in death by a twin sister and five brothers. Bob was a World War II veteran, U.S. Army, European Theater and he was one of the "Greatest Generation." He retired from Eastern Washington University in Cheney, WA. He was a member of the Rio Rancho Kiwanis Club and the American Legion. He enjoyed hockey and basketball and having lively discussions about sports. He attended Calvary Chapel and loved the Lord. A brief service, with military honors will be held Wednesday, MAY 18, 2011, 2:15 PM at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Our thanks to Beehive Village and Heartland Hospice.
