Obituary for MANZER

Francis "Fran" Manzer, age 74, of Edgewood, passed away on May 13, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda; his daughter, Vivian Woodall (Mitch) of Edgewood; his two sons, Stephen (Chivon) of Edgewood and Ken (Rachael) of East Hartland, CT; four grandchildren, Erin, Joshua, Meagan and Benjamin; one sister, Linda (Lloyd) Merritt of Binghamton, NY. He is preceded in death by his parents and his son-in-law, William Hanson in 2004. Fran was born on February 16,1937 in Middletown NY, the son of Kenneth and Camilla Manzer. After graduating from High School, he entered the United States Air Force in 1956. On December 7, 1957, he was married to Linda Boyd in Bainbridge NY. After his military service, he and Linda settled in the Berkshires in Massachusetts, where Fran worked his way up to general manager of a large automobile dealership. It was during this time that Fran and Linda enjoyed raising their family and enjoying the many outdoor activities offered in the Berkshires. In 1997, Fran and Linda moved to Edgewood, New Mexico. He worked at Rich Ford of Edgewood for over ten years. While in New Mexico, Fran enjoyed riding his Harley, traveling with Linda in their Fifth Wheel, and spending time with his family. A Memorial Service will be held at French ~ Lomas Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd NE on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the no-kill animal shelter, Watermelon Mountain Ranch, 4320 C Ridgecrest Drive SE, Rio Rancho, NM, 87124 (505-771-0140 in memory of Fran.
