Obituary for DUBOIS

Madeleine Annette DuBois, age 86, passed away in her sleep on May 7, 2011. A resident of Rio Rancho for the last 16 years, Madeleine was born in Paris, France, on September 27, 1924. She spent her early years growing up through the Depression and the Nazi occupation of France during World War II. Toward the end of the war, after Paris was liberated, she met a handsome, young American soldier and fell in love. They married and moved to her husband's hometown, Racine, Wisconsin. After raising her daughter, Madeleine became a well respected French teacher who was a friend to fellow teachers and students alike. A few years after retiring, she and her family moved to New Mexico to enjoy the warm sunshine and beautiful landscapes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren DuBois; her parents, Marie and Arthur, and her two brothers, Roger and Guy. She is survived by her daughter, Viviane DuBois of Rio Rancho; her sister, Suzanne Leroux; her sister-in-law, Mauricette, and several nieces and nephews in both France and the USA. The family would like to express appreciation to the staff at Rio Rancho Care and Rehabilitation Center and Presbyterian Hospice. There will be no public services.
