J. Eddie Saiz 1930-2011 J. Eddie Saiz, age 80, born and raised in Los Lunas, NM, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2011. He was the Valencia Deputy County Clerk from 1952 to 1954. Eddie proudly served our country in the United States Army from 1948 to 1951. He was a member of the New Mexico Army National Guard from 1956 to 1982 when he retired from the military with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 4. Eddie owned the J. Eddie Saiz Farmers Insurance Group Agency in Los Lunas from 1973 to 1985. He worked for the Village of Los Lunas as the Director of Public Works from 1982 to 1998, and finally retired from the work force in 1998. Throughout his life Eddie was a member of the American Legion, the Knights of Columbus, Middle Rio Grande Council of Governments, San Clemente Catholic Church and too many other organizations to faithfully be noted. Eddie's love of God, family and community will always be remembered. He was preceded in death by his parents, Celedon Sais and Teresa Gallegos Sais; brothers, Arturo Sais and Reuben Sais and sister, Christina Sais Sanchez. Eddie is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Mildred Sanchez Saiz; brothers, Jerry Sais and wife, Irene and Sammy Sais and wife, Pat; sisters-in-law, Beatrice Sais, Rose Barreras and Bertha Lovato; brother-in-law, Emilio Sanchez; sons, Gerard Saiz and wife, Anita and Bernard Saiz and wife, Deanna; daughters, Geraldine Saiz TenBrink and husband, Mark and Annette Saiz; grandchildren, Matthew Saiz, Brandon Facchini, Melette Facchini, Ashley TenBrink, Stephen Saiz, Sara Jo Saiz, and Kristen Saiz. A viewing will be held at the San Clemente Catholic Church, at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, with a Rosary to be recited at 3:00 p.m. A final visitation will be held at the San Clemente Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, May 16, with Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the San Clemente Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matthew Saiz, Stephen Saiz, Gene Sais, Alfred Sanchez, Jerry Sais Jr. and Reyes Sais. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ronnie Tapia, Aaron Sais, Alfred Lovato, Mark TenBrink, Brandon Facchini and Joey Sais.
