Mary Jane. The Grimes, Rosser and Myers family would like to announce the going home of Mary Jane Myers Grimes "Granny" to our dear Lord. Mary Jane passed peacefully on the evening of April 26, 2011. "Granny" was born in Davis, OK on June 16, 1921. "Granny" and her husband Melvin James Grimes moved to Albuquerque in 1956. After the tragic death of her husband Melvin in 1981, Mary remained in Albuquerque, where she raised five children and three grandchildren. She is survived by her brother, Kelly Myers and wife Mary of Pauls Valley, OK; her children, Donna and Joe Rosser of Friday, TX, James Melvin Grimes Jr. of Albuquerque, Charles "Chuck" Grimes and wife Dolly of Orange Grove, TX, Pamela Grimes and Kip Grimes and wife Yvonne of Albuquerque; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. "Granny" was preceded in death by her husband Melvin; parents Charley Washington and Tempia Celeste Myers, brothers John and Buck Myers, and sister Charlene Myers Smith. Friends may visit French - University Chapel on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 beginning at 10:00 a.m. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow the service at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:15 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mary's memory to Alameda Baptist Church.
