Rose C. Armijo, 86, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 28, 2011. She is survived by her children, Barbara Pohl and husband, Gilbert, Marcella Perrine and husband, Frank, Christine McWhorter and husband, Tom, Alfred Armijo and wife, Rose; grandchildren Gabriel Perrine and wife, Erica, Michael Perrine and wife, Janice, David Perrine and Krystal, Lisa McWhorter, Nick McAfee and Dinah, Estrella Armijo and Gaspar; great-grandchildren Joseph Montoya, Samantha Montoya, Delyna Salazar, Jason Girdner, Brianna McAfee, and Amber McAfee; and a large extended family. Mrs. Armijo was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel L. Armijo. Rose was a long time resident of the South Valley. Her focus was on her family. She made the best tortillas in town. Every Wednesday night was "Grandma Night," where everyone gathered together for her cooking. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, May 1, 2011 at 3:00 p.m., at French - University Chapel. A service will be held, Monday, May 2, 2011, at 9:00 a.m., at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal Rd. SW, 87105. Interment will follow at San Jose De Armijo Cemetery, 2957 Arenal Rd. SW, 87105.
