Florence Grace Johnson passed away at home quietly on Palm Sunday, April 17, 2011. Florence was preceded in death by her husband Robert (Bob) J. Johnson; father, Lorenzo Perea; mother, Agnes Ross Perea; and granddaughter, Stephanie Lynne Chavez-Sanchez. Survivors include son, Barry David Perea and wife Sharon of Las Vegas, NV, Daughter, Linda C De Baca-Cash of Albuquerque, son, Jacob L. Baca and wife Kay of Albuquerque, and son, Chris Baca of Santa Monica, CA; Godchildren, Rhiannon Chavez Ross, Lisa Werschey and Nicole Sanchez; grandchildren, Robert and Patrick Sanchez, Lori Armijo, Lisa Werschey and husband Robert, and David B. Perea; great-grandchildren, Rhiannon, Raquel, Ronnie, Stephen, Patrick Jr., Nicole, Samantha, Alec and Taylor, Billy and Kelsi; great-great-grandchildren, Isabella, Gabriel and Melody; and numerous nieces and nephews. Florence retired from Digital Electric as an inspector. She served the Lord as a lector and was active in the Altar and Rosary Society and a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church for many years. Though she no longer lived in Alameda she still attended services at Nativity. Florence was well known for her baking and was happiest working in the yard, gardening and shopping. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend, who worked hard to make all holidays special and memorable. She will be remembered and missed by many. A Rosary will be recited Monday, April 25, 2011 at 8:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, where a Service of Christian Burial will follow at 9:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:15 p.m. Those who wish to express their condolences may visit www.danielsfuneral.com .
