LTC Harold K. "Duke" Slater, age 92, born 1919 on Indiana and died April 5, 2011 in Albuquerque, NM. Duke was an admired military hero, decorated with numerous medals including three Purple Hearts: WWII (Army 2nd Ranger Battalion), D-Day, Korean War, POW. He had a beautiful spirit that cherished every moment of life and had a great sense of humor. Harold enjoyed sharing his personal military history with others. He loved his country, family and friends. Military Service with Honors was held on April 11, 2011 in Santa Fe National Cemetery, New Mexico.
