Avis was born November 8, 1937 and passed away on April 6, 2011 after battling cancer. She was born in Bemedji, Minnesota and moved to Albuquerque in 1964. She worked for APS for over 25 years as a secretary for different schools here in Albuquerque. Avis was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Mable Schroth; and her son, Tim Harris. She is survived by her son, Tony Harris and wife, Kathie. Avis has four grandchildren, Brittney, Adriana, Brad and Matt Harris. Avis loved to read, travel and go to the casino. Direct Services has handled the cremation and a private memorial service will be held.
