Lena Martinez, age 87, passed away April 1, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband Mariano E. Martinez in 2005 and her grandson, Julian N. Martinez in 2005. She is survived by her son, Morris Martinez and his wife Mary P. Martinez; her daughter Mary Jane Thibodeau; one brother, Robert N. Garcia and wife Gloria; two sisters Jennie Duran and Florence Sanchez; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; and her beloved companion MiMi Louise. The Rosary will be recited Sunday, April 3, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. in the Shrine of the Little Flower St. Therese Catholic Church, 3424 Fourth Street NW. The Mass will be celebrated Monday, April 4th, 2011 at 8:00 a.m. in the Shrine of the Little Flower St. Therese Catholic Church. Interment will take place Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at 9:45 am in the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Edwin Martinez, Damien Hurst, Orlando Gutierrez Jr., Orlando Gutierrez III, William Billy Sanchez and Michael Lucero. Honorary pallbearers will be the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The arrangements for Lena are under the direction of the Salazar and Sons Mortuary 400 Third St. SW 247-4124.
