Obituary for MAGGART

David R. Maggart was born in Sullivan County, Missouri, on March 2, 1952, and except for ten years living in New York State after high school, he spent his life in New Mexico until his death at age 59 on March 23, 2011. David was preceded in death by his father, Harley Maggart; and his sister, Deborah Woodward. He is survived by his mother, Zelda Maggart; brother, Stephen and wife, Linda Maggart; nephews, James, Tim, and Josh Woodward, all of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and his son, Jonathan of Maryland. David was an Eagle Scout, graduated from Oswego University, New York, with a degree in mathematics and physics, worked in the field of electronics, and eventually established a career in real estate. His interests included human history, genealogy, travel, and activities that challenged his mind. David was a member of the Cherokee Nation and was learning the Cherokee language. A Memorial Service will be conducted for David's family and friends by Pastors Cory Dryden and Clyde Stanfield on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. N.E. David will be interred at Sunset Memorial Park in a private function at a later time.
