Winifred Gill Sandusky, 98, a resident of Los Lunas, NM, passed away Friday, March 11, 2011. She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen M. Martinez and husband, Tony of Albuquerque and son, Patrick G. Maloney of Davenport, WA; grandchildren, Jerald "Jerry" Cosper DVM and wife, Eileen of Los Lunas, NM, Terrance "Terry" Cosper and wife, Nicole, Shelly D. Cosper Pocci, and Gary P. Cosper, all of Albuquerque, Brian Maloney and wife, Allisa, Derwin Maloney and Rhonda Maloney Nigg, all of Spokane, WA; fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. Winifred was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Phillip Sandusky; and her brother, Allen Gill. She was born on July 20, 1912 in Riverside, CA to Rosco C. and Jesse V. Gill. Winifred was retired from Sandia Base. She was an active member of the Valencia County Pinto Horses Association and volunteered her time between the Bosque Public Library and tutoring English. Winifred also enjoyed her time and trips with the Bosque Farms Senior Citizens group. After retirement Winifred kept herself busy with her love of horses and animals, her paintings, and many other crafts she was involved with. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Cremation has taken place and no memorial service is planned. Winifred's family would like to thank Vista Care Hospice for all there special care that was given in her final days.
