Obituary for BETKOSKI

Patricia A. (Holloway) Betkoski, age 78, of 25 Blackberry Hill, wife of Edward Betkoski, died peacefully on Friday, February 11, 2011 at Waterbury Hospital. Patricia was born in Waterbury, CT on June 21, 1932, daughter of the late Leo and Stella (Wasnieski) Holloway. She was a lifelong resident of Beacon Falls and graduated from Naugatuck High School. After raising her family, she attended and graduated from Northwestern Community College. She worked as an interpreter for the deaf in the Waterbury Public Schools. Among her many interests, Patricia was an avid seamstress and had a passion for fly-fishing. She enjoyed her crossword puzzles and spending time playing games with her grandchildren. Patricia will always be remembered for her love of life and witty sense of humor. She was a communicant of St. Michael's Church where she was a member of the Ladies Guild. Besides her beloved husband of almost 60 years, she is survived by her three sons, Steven Betkoski of Beacon Falls, Thomas Betkoski of Naugatuck, and Christopher Betkoski of Bethlehem; three daughters, Paula Cranford of Monroe, Mary Ann Mays and Nancy Betkoski, both of Beacon Falls; three brothers, John Holloway of Oxford, Edward Holloway of Beacon Falls, and Thomas Holloway of Southbury; two sisters, Barbara Caron of Naugatuck and Carol Buehler of Beacon Falls; 14 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Patricia was pre-deceased by her daughter Tara, her brother Leo Holloway, and her sister Jeanne Nelson. Her funeral was held on Tuesday, February 15, 2011.
