Obituary for TAFOYA

Rachel Tafoya, born in Chimayo, New Mexico, on January 25, 1918 passed away peacefully on March 6, 2011 at the age of 93. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband Candido Tafoya; parents, Encarnacion and Eulogia Trujillo; two brothers, John Trujillo and Ralph Trujillo and his wife Rosalie; four sisters, Clementine Trujillo, Susana Lucero, Nina Griffin and Isida Trujillo. Rachel is survived by her son Jess Tafoya and his wife Rita; daughter, Sandi Marquis and husband John Marquis of Bellevue, WA; two grandchildren, Michelle Davila and husband Joe Davila and Le'Anne Tafoya; four great-grandchildren, Samantha, Shelby, Sabrina and her little angel Sidney. She has numerous nieces, grandnieces, nephews and grandnephews that will all miss her kind hearted soul. Rachel's family and friends will remember her as a caring, loving and compassionate woman who loved to travel, bake, work on puzzles and tend to her flowers, fruit trees and garden. A special thanks to Dolores Davila, Hope Smith and Sally Marin who were Rachel's Caregivers. We also appreciate Rachel's family, friends, and neighbors who always looked in on her. A rosary will be Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 7:30pm at Salazar & Sons Mortuary. Mass will be held at Risen Savior on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 10:00am.
